Major phone line cut in Teller County; most 911 service not working

A major phone service outage has affected all of Teller County, leaving many land and cellular phones useless and cutting 911 service throughout the county.
The outage started at about 8:30 p.m. and was still affecting Teller County as of 2:15 a.m. Friday, according to the Teller County Sheriff's Office dispatch.
Calls from working land lines were being diverted to the Colorado Springs 911 call center, however people with cell phones must still contact agencies directly, dispatch said.
Crews determined that a Quest T1 line was cut, however the location had not been determined as of shortly after midnight Friday. Some Verizon lines were also tied into that severed T1 line, cutting service for both phone providers.
