thanks jf. we came upon the scene. i was headed down to the docs with a bad ankle so couldn't help with medical but the other person i was with was able to check things out. as soon as rescue truck arrived we turned around and went the long way around.
we were worried about one of the vehicles catching on fire so relieved to know everybody got out alright.
we will wait til high timber times or the flume provides more info.

We got stuck in that traffic after having lunch at Aspen Peak Cellars and heading back to Pine Junction. I guess it happened shortly before because there were still emergency vehicles driving by with sirens.
Based on that, and lack of traffic going north, we decided to turn around and take a long route back through Foxton and up 126 to Pine Junction. When we got there, we still didn't much traffic, so I guess 285 was still blocked.
