IMO, it is a bit different when FACTs are clearly shown.

The day after he crash, on on Nov. 12 he said that the investigation into the crash was ongoing, and he didn't have the information available to release the victims' names.

He said the crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. when a southbound Subaru Forester traveled into the northbound lane and sideswiped a Ford pickup truck hauling a camper trailer.

This caused the Subaru to rotate, and it was struck in its side by a Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle around 1 p.m....

U.S. 285 was closed for about three hours hours while emergency crews worked on scene.....

The Colorado Department of Transportation reopened both lanes of the road just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

Here is the facts on this, It happened right around 115pm. The subaru Forester did travel into the northboudn lane, sideswipe the pickup and his camper trailer. The camper trailer came off the trailer frame and ended up off the road down the embankment. The Ford Expedition did strike the subaru because of what happened. The driver and passenger of the subaru had to be removed on the back board out of the car. The pickup ended up across both the north and south bound lanes with his rear axle now going length wise with the truck. the frame of the tralier was still attached to the hitch. They hit so hard that it was like a huge explosion. A part of the pickup landed only 2 foot in front of my jeep. Very bad accident Not sure if the driver of the subaru would make it by looks of the subaru.

You are wondering now how I know these facts. Had I not already been slowly down for the 40 mile an hour sign coming up. I would have been right in the middle of this also. I was on my way from Conifer MRC to Fitzsimmons middle school for Veterans Day celebration. I saw it, I slammed on the brakes and when I stopped I was about 4 ft from the pickup where it stopped. Graped the cell phone and jump out of the jeep to both call 911 and stop traffic on the southbound side. Once that was done I started trying to help the victim of the pickup as ELK CREEK FIRE responded extremely fast. (A good thing).

i probably saw you navycpo7. i didn't get out of the truck as i had an injury but did watch all of it. my friend assessed the subaru driver and passenger while her husband worked on northbound traffic. both were conscious and responding to commands. looks like they were in shock more from the airbags deploying.

saw the lowe's truck driver and i am guessing he was assisting?

Depends on what time you drove by, I filled out the witness statement and explained to the deputy where I was headed, They got the trailer moved and let me go first. I was heading to Fitz Middle School that was around 130 135

I was headed to Conifer HS, around 2pm. They were cleaning up the rest of the trailer when I made it by.
