A southpaw and those who seem to know him (I don't) LOVE him, while those who don't know anything about him think it's a mistake; a bad choice by Joshy. What do you think?
You know something must have been up with Colt McCoy they didn't pick him up til pic 85? What was that all about. I really don't know what to think but I do know that the draft always has a surprise. Mainly because they always know something we don't. It is a chess game. :Koolaid:

I love the pick. I have always liked Tebow. I was very excited they traded up for him. He was arguably the greatest quarteback in college football history. And those who say he can't make it in the NFL just because of his throwing motion are really not looking at the big picture. he can and is changing that. It is not a deal breaker at all. He has great accuracy, and a phenomenal leader instead of the whiner we had in Cutler. He is also a great running quarterback and many of those have been very successful in the NFL. His character and what he will bring to Denver is going to be such a boost for us. He will end up doing for Denver what Elway did as far as contributing to the community. Also his jersey has sold more than any other, so obviously many in Denver love him and I think it will draw a lot more interest to our football team that has been mediocre at best for several years. I think he will be our franchise quarterback for many years to come.
Wow Viking! You make him sound perfect for us and I am so happy to hear that he is all that we need. I can't wait! Robyn, we'll plan on a training camp day, ok? Not too soon though; winter needs to be summer for awhile first. Then, when it's miserably hot and we start to wonder when it will cool down, that's when Training camp should happen. Ha!
Vike, I really am happy to hear you say all those great things about Tebow. Aside from all that, he has a good name to chant, "Let's go, Tebow!"

Not liking the Broncos? Actually I have heard a few more interviews with different people who are starting to warm up to the idea of him and maybe even thinking they jumped to conclusions about how bad he would be. I guess time will tell.

And I wouldn't say that he is 'all' that we need. We need help in a few areas, but I personally think he will turn out to be a great pick for us.
I think the general perception of Tim Tebow is skewed. He has generated quite the buzz due to his fantastic college career, record-setting jersey sales, and his pairing with the wunderkind coach or McDumbass (depending on who you ask). However, football fans and "analysts" are just as divided on Tebow as McDaniels. The majority thinks he is a bust and others see him as a great quarterback in the making. Each side has a convincing case.
First, the good. Tim Tebow's college statistics indicate that he is one of the most, if not the most, successful college quarterback of all time. Accurate, extremely high TD/INT ratio, and Florida won a championship and reached a second title game with Tebow at the helm. He has great character and leadership skills, and even greater passion for the game. He is going to work hard and mesh with the Denver Patriots attitude Josh has instituted at Dove Valley. Everything a coach wants in a quarterback, right?
But what about the bad? Tebow does not have NFL quarterback mechanics. In nearly all cases, if a college quarterback does not have NFL size, arm strength, or mechanics he is not going to succeed. In college Tebow threw from the hip, which creates a long throwing motion, and he dips the ball a little during his throws. He has a long way to go to fix his mechanics and there is no indication that he will have the accuracy to succeed with a revitalized throwing motion. In addition, how much of Florida's and Tebow's success can be attributed to the stellar supporting cast he had around him? Many productive college quarterbacks on highly skilled teams have failed in the NFL (Leinart, Detmer, and Wuerfful just to name a few of the greatest college quarterbacks).
I myself am not sure what to think about Tebow. I love his impressive stats, versatility, and intangibles. But I can't help feeling that he will fail because he does not have NFL mechanics and it is too difficult to drastically reform a quarterback's style. But I will say that if anybody has the ability to overcome this problem it is Tebow because of his character and passion for the game. Only time will tell, but plan on lots of it going by before Tebow tries his hand at leading the Bronciots.
