Fearless Felix is going to break the speed of sound using his capsule... skydive from 23 miles up. LOL

Good luck, hope he makes it. Sounds nuts to me.

"The Austrian adventurer will ascend to 120,000 feet in a pressurized capsule and, wearing only a spacesuit and a parachute, jump. As he plummets earthward in what will be the highest skydive ever, Baumgartner will become the first person to break the sound barrier in freefall."

I got wondering, if he's going to break the sound barrier how will he be able to decelerate to safe enough speed to open his main parachute? The answers and some fun facts are posted here: http://www.redbullstratos.com/technology/parachute/

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Depressurizing the cabin in preparation for egress!

Well, he didn't break the record for time spent in free-fall, but it looks like he did break the sound barrier. That was totally cool watching it live with the munchkins!
Took a couple of screen shots as he exited and jumped:

Pretty cool. So he jumped out at what altitude? I thought he was going to ride the capsule all the way down. Amazing! Glad it was a success!
