Also negotiating with ham radio club in Denver. They erected the tower 20 years ago, time to start paying in.

Thanks jf, I'm slow at teaching myself the software, but try to learn at least one new thing to make them better each time. Feedback helps a lot (got a call last June from someone telling me the sound was still too low, and I hadn't noticed, so I've been playing with the audio settings ever since).jf1acai wrote: Thank You for the time, effort, and $ you expend to provide this very valuable information to the community!
I know that the amount of time you spend making and processing the videos, and creating the excellent and very helpful summaries (timelines) far exceeds the amount of time covered by the videos, and just wanted to point that out to others who may not be aware of it.
Also, you have greatly improved the quality of the videos since this was first attempted.

delta, I'm barely functioning these days and I'm sure I'm completely messed up here ...could you explain what you mean by performance to budget? I've got the budget breakdown comparison 2011-2014 posted finally (previous post with video), is that it or something else? Thanks for helping me understand.deltamrey wrote: Good set.......thanks. Nowhere did I see a full routine disclosure of performance to budget.....possibly I missed this....but I doubt it.
AGAIN some entities have developed a www site with ALL budget and expenses against budget regularly posted for the taxpayers.
jf, I'd encourage you to call and chat with the Chief personally about this one. He didn't go into too many details so please don't think based on my quick notes that they aren't appreciative of the Ham radio club. I didn't even know before that meeting that they were the ones to build that tower - that's really cool.jf1acai wrote:

I'm very mixed about this one. Of course, I am also biased (I am a Ham).
I know none of the details involved here. I do know that ham radio provides much useful communications along the Front Range and throughout Colorado, especially in times of bad weather, fires, floods, power outages, etc.
I do not believe that ham radio should get a 'free ride' because of the services they have provided in the past.
I think that the value of the services they continue to provide should be considered in negotiating what they are required to pay in return for having continued access to the antenna tower, and I assume a secure suitable location for their equipment and normal power for same.
