Colorado Gives Day December 10, 2019 - Give Where You Live!

07 Nov 2019 09:48 #1 by MyMountainTown

Twenty-six mountain area nonprofits have joined forces to ask you to Give Where You Live on Tuesday, December 10, Colorado Gives Day 2019. This annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving, now in its 10th year, is sponsored by the Community First Foundation and FirstBank. Donating through ColoradoGives.org is safe, secure, and speedy!

Why give to these nonprofits? Our mountain area is part of unincorporated Jefferson County, and lacks city or town governments to provide a full range of services which would be paid for by city taxes. The nonprofit sector steps in to fill the gaps - and these groups rely on the sustained generosity of donors and volunteers like YOU for support.

We are fortunate to live in a place where so many committed individuals have come together to establish organizations that enrich our area and lives. Everywhere you turn, you will see the hand of our nonprofits at work!

Friends of Staunton State Park is one of the newest nonprofits in the area - through their efforts, we have a beautiful new state park right in our backyards which will preserve 3,828 acres for generations to come.

The Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society and Mountain Area Land Trust also work to preserve and protect our historical lands and treasures.

When our neighbors are experiencing job loss or financial crises, they turn to Evergreen Christian Outreach and the Mountain Resource Center for food, financial assistance, employment advice, clothing and much more.

Senior’s Resource Center, Elk Run Assisted Living and Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice provide services to our seniors and others in need of health care assistance. Additional support is available through Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity, Life’s Options Pregnancy Center, and Mountain Peace Shelter.

Our animals are not left out – we can learn about wildlife at the Evergreen Audubon Nature Center, and adopt pets from the Evergreen Animal Protective League and the InterMountain Humane Society

Mountain-area residents of all ages have the opportunity to experience high-quality performances, visual art exhibits, classes and festivals right here in our community, presented by the Evergreen Jazz Festival, Ovation West Performing Arts (formerly known as Evergreen Chorale), Evergreen Players, Evergreen Children’s Chorale, The Venue Theatre, StageDoor Theatre, Sculpture Evergreen, and Center for the Arts Evergreen.

The Jefferson County Public Library Foundation provides numerous resources inside and outside the Conifer and Evergreen libraries. Bootstraps Scholarships and Loans helps area students and families realize the dream of higher education through awards and financial aid to our college-bound youth.

Evergreen Alliance for Sustainability + You (EAS+Y) educates and provides services for waste reduction, local food sources, energy conservation, and other sustainability practices.

Evergreen Rotary Foundation helps many area nonprofits through their fundraising and giving.

Community First Foundation, a leading foundation dedicated to fueling the power of community to drive positive change, and FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally-owned bank, have partnered to present Colorado Gives Day for the past ten years. Both organizations contribute $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund each year. Your donation goes further on December 10, because each nonprofit receives a portion of the incentive fund based on the amount of donations they receive on this day. Colorado Gives Day makes fundraising simple for nonprofits and giving easy for donors making it one of the most successful events of its kind in the nation.

To be certified as a Colorado Gives-approved charity, organizations must meet high standards for governance and fiscal responsibility. Visit www.coloradogives.org/ to find the profile of organizations you wish to support and make your safe and secure donation in a few easy steps.

You don’t have to wait until December 10 – starting November 1, you can schedule your contributions to be processed on Colorado Gives Day. So you can participate in the national “Giving Tuesday” on December 3, and schedule your donations to be processed on Colorado Gives Day.

Please visit ColoradoGives.org to donate to the nonprofit organizations that educate, enrich, entertain and protect our community.

Every donation, no matter the amount, makes an impact. Give Where You Live!

Proudly serving mountain Jeffco, Clear Creek & Park County!

All families want a better life for their children. Though many students qualify for financial aid, many families are still hard pressed to keep up with the ever-increasing financial burden of sending their children to college. Bootstraps helps families to alleviate some of this financial burden.

Each year Bootstraps awards over $200,000 in scholarships and interest-free loans to mountain-area high school seniors. All awards are donated by individuals and businesses in our community; we'd love to add your name to our list of Bootstraps supporters here!

Since 1945, Bootstraps has awarded more than $3.1 million in scholarships and interest-free loans to over 1,100 students!

We're excited to participate in the Colorado Gives Day program by ColoradoGives.org! This will help us raise more funds in order to continue growing and supporting the ground-breaking Staunton Track Chair Accessibility Program, help support the park's needs, and get another keystone project near and dear to our hearts underway: restoration and preservation of the historic cabins within Staunton State Park.

You can go ahead and schedule a donation for the big fundraising push on CO Gives Day, happening on December 10th this year, or wait until that day to give. You and your kids can even create your own fundraising effort for Friends of Staunton!

Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day will receive a portion of the Community First Foundation's $1.5 million Incentive Fund, increasing the value of every dollar you donate. Whether you choose to support us, and/or a number of other worthy area nonprofits, we want you to know that we are grateful for your support throughout the year. Thank you so much!

Our mission: Preserve, promote, protect. Your generous donation goes toward the trails, amenities, historical structures, the ground-breaking Track Chair Program, and more at Staunton State Park. Because of you, last year's Colorado Gives Day was the most successful in CAE history!

CAE's community outreach programs were so well received and meaningful that they touched the hearts of philanthropists Stephen M. Cumbie and Druscilla French, who want to spark the spirit of generous giving with a matching gift designated for Colorado Gives Day this year, coming up on December 10th.

In Druscilla's words, "At a time when there is such a focus on issues that divide us, the arts provide us with experiences that celebrate our love for what we share. I support the Center for the Arts Evergreen because it showcases the best of who we are and an appreciation of the soulful life we share."

Share the Moment is just one of our outreach programs that continue to thrive. It was designed for adults with memory loss and their care partners. This year we added an art making experience that ties with a tour of the exhibition, providing an opportunity for our guests to share in the joy of art through the creation of a work of their own.

In 2019, we also increased outreach to the underserved populations of adults and children with mental and physical limitations and the students of rural schools. For 2020, we are excited to roll out numerous community collaboration projects with our mountain area schools and youth in the Evergreen community. This programming is based on a core value of inclusion and a celebration of our shared love for the arts.

On December 10th (or schedule your gift ahead of time) please give generously through Colorado Gives. Simply go to www.coloradogives.org , look up Center for the Arts Evergreen and click on "donate." Every dollar you give CAE on December 10th will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000, essentially doubling your contribution. Thank you for the gifts you've already made to the Center for the Arts Evergreen and for your consideration to give again. Together we can do even more.

Sincerely,

The Staff, Board of Directors, and Volunteers of Center for the Arts Evergreen

The Art of Community Theatre:

Theatre is a collaborative art. In setting the scene at curtain's rise, we do more than learn and rehearse lines of dialog and block action in a space on stage - we tap a community of talents: The actors, director and stage manager... The playwright, the lighting designer, and the scenic artist... The carpenters, the seamstresses, and the makeup artists... The sound engineers, electricians, technicians and gadgeteers... All work together to create the illusion of
reality on stage.

The Venue is a place for local youth to come to feel supported, express themselves, step out of their comfort zones, and explore their potential. They check their worries at the door and are surrounded with like-minded peers and supportive adults. It more than a place. We call it the Venue Family, and we deeply appreciate your support.

Ovation West Performing Arts, based in Evergreen, Colorado, presents high quality music and musical theatre so that music lovers can experience the arts in their community at affordable prices. Formerly known as the Evergreen Chorale, the organization serves as the umbrella under which the Evergreen Chorale, Ovation West Musical Theatre, Altezza Chamber Choir, Summer Music Camp, and the Shining Stars Concert Series operate.

We also own Center Stage, a historical theater and community treasure used by many performing arts groups in our community for performers and patrons of all ages.

Your support enables us to bring music to the mountain community. We provide over $4,000 in scholarships to young people each year, so that they can participate in Summer Music Camp and sing with the Chorale.

Please consider a year-end contribution on Colorado Gives Day through ColoradoGives.org or by sending a check to Ovation West at PO Box 2103, Evergreen CO 80437

Evergreen Christian Outreach: Restoring Hope, Changing Lives!

EChO fulfills its mission by providing immediate financial assistance, food, shelter and other items to meet the most basic and urgent needs of the clients we serve, helping them move towards self-sufficiency and sustainability.

Every summer, Evergreen Christian Outreach supports between 100-120 area kids by providing food for their lunches all week and back to school supplies. A donation to EChO on #cogivesday will help us continue programs like these!

Before Thanksgiving, Evergreen Christian Outreach provide turkeys and fixings to over 200 area families. Next week, we will provide over 200 holiday meals for Christmas. If you can help us feed our neighbors in need, please donate at evergreenchristianoutreach.org/restoring...-changing-lives.html
