Twenty-six mountain area nonprofits have joined forces to ask you to Give Where You Live on Tuesday, December 10, Colorado Gives Day 2019. This annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through online giving, now in its 10th year, is sponsored by the Community First Foundation and FirstBank. Donating through ColoradoGives.org is safe, secure, and speedy!
Why give to these nonprofits? Our mountain area is part of unincorporated Jefferson County, and lacks city or town governments to provide a full range of services which would be paid for by city taxes. The nonprofit sector steps in to fill the gaps - and these groups rely on the sustained generosity of donors and volunteers like YOU for support.
We are fortunate to live in a place where so many committed individuals have come together to establish organizations that enrich our area and lives. Everywhere you turn, you will see the hand of our nonprofits at work!
Friends of Staunton State Park is one of the newest nonprofits in the area - through their efforts, we have a beautiful new state park right in our backyards which will preserve 3,828 acres for generations to come.
The
Evergreen Mountain Area Historical Society and
Mountain Area Land Trust also work to preserve and protect our historical lands and treasures.
When our neighbors are experiencing job loss or financial crises, they turn to
Evergreen Christian Outreach and the
Mountain Resource Center for food, financial assistance, employment advice, clothing and much more.
Senior’s Resource Center, Elk Run Assisted Living and Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice provide services to our seniors and others in need of health care assistance. Additional support is available through
Blue Spruce Habitat for Humanity, Life’s Options Pregnancy Center, and Mountain Peace Shelter.
Our animals are not left out – we can learn about wildlife at the
Evergreen Audubon Nature Center, and adopt pets from the
Evergreen Animal Protective League and the
InterMountain Humane Society.
Mountain-area residents of all ages have the opportunity to experience high-quality performances, visual art exhibits, classes and festivals right here in our community, presented by the
Evergreen Jazz Festival, Ovation West Performing Arts (formerly known as Evergreen Chorale), Evergreen Players, Evergreen Children’s Chorale, The Venue Theatre, StageDoor Theatre, Sculpture Evergreen, and Center for the Arts Evergreen.
The
Jefferson County Public Library Foundation provides numerous resources inside and outside the Conifer and Evergreen libraries.
Bootstraps Scholarships and Loans helps area students and families realize the dream of higher education through awards and financial aid to our college-bound youth.
Evergreen Alliance for Sustainability + You (EAS+Y) educates and provides services for waste reduction, local food sources, energy conservation, and other sustainability practices.
Evergreen Rotary Foundation helps many area nonprofits through their fundraising and giving.
Community First Foundation, a leading foundation dedicated to fueling the power of community to drive positive change, and
FirstBank, Colorado’s largest locally-owned bank, have partnered to present Colorado Gives Day for the past ten years. Both organizations contribute $500,000 to create a $1 Million Incentive Fund each year. Your donation goes further on December 10, because each nonprofit receives a portion of the incentive fund based on the amount of donations they receive on this day. Colorado Gives Day makes fundraising simple for nonprofits and giving easy for donors making it one of the most successful events of its kind in the nation.
To be certified as a Colorado Gives-approved charity, organizations must meet high standards for governance and fiscal responsibility. Visit
