These are not my issues but I checked with Bill and he posts in the hope it will help someone else. The idea of going in with 10 day and 6 month BP graphs startles me.

"From: LindyBill of 24695

My number one nuisance is constipation. It seems to be the same for most over 50. I have had mine since I had a bowel op for cancer back in the 80s. But what really gets it going is an ophiate. In my case, Oxy. I have learned how to control it with the private label Costco version of Miralax. But it's always a "watch and wait" situation.

I never know which pill is going to give me heart burn/stomach aches. I stay on Prilosec to handle it. Using, again, Costco's private label.

I am going in on the 17th to Kaiser for my six month "Junkie" checkup they make everybody on Oxy take. I make up a list of everything wrong with me to hand my PCP, along with a graph of my BP/pulse for the last 10 days and six months. Of course, my prescription/OTC list. Along with everything any other specialist has done to me since I saw him last.

He walks in, sits down, and goes over my check list. Then we go at it.

People, this is the way to treat your PCP. Give him all the help on your BG you can. "

"Bill" would be much better off if he can get off the OXY.

What I find extremely telling is.....hit previous post button and you will see his lamenting about the various side affects and the LACK
of doctor input of those side affects.....FIRST rule....ALWAYS be your own health advocate and ASK QUESTIONS....and if you do NOT
understand the explanation or it is not satisfactory ASK AGAIN.....contrary to popular belief....it it NOT better living thru chemistry.JMO

Maybe, maybe not. We only go around once, unless you are a Buddhist.

LOL. What you assume about Bill is 100% incorrect. Object lesson on drawing conclusions from insufficient data.

Just a couple of QUICK questions about all the meds he takes......does he KNOW the fillers used in EACH of the rx's.....does he track the manufacture and it's OUTsourcing for ingredients, does he order as LARGE a quantity as possible....BATCHES of pills will VARY in strength....
specifically true for generics......WHEN you are ingesting a large quantity of pills on a daily basis THAT information is mandatory....discovered
it the hard way when they ATTEMPTED to put me on thyroid meds prematurely......(OH YES and when they did NOT order the correct tests
to assess the thyroid values......I requested the complete panel that was needed.......but Blazin Bob....that's ok for you to "slam" me......IF
Oxcy is your idea of Nirvana, guess I missed the point.

I did not slam you. I pointed out that based on the limited data point you were working off of, what you found "telling" is 180 degrees out of phase with the facts.

Yes, you missed the point but on review I think I erred in pasting that post. I see that it contains red flags that I did not even think a bout. I know almost nothing about "oxi" and have followed his posts for a long time.

I have huge respect for Bill and for that reason do not crop his posts. This is the part that I considered "the point" and the reason for the subject line.

" I make up a list of everything wrong with me to hand my PCP, along with a graph of my BP/pulse for the last 10 days and six months. Of course, my prescription/OTC list. Along with everything any other specialist has done to me since I saw him last.

Thus My comment, "The idea of going in with 10 day and 6 month BP graphs startles me."

This is a great example of how internet conversations so often go astray.

Well, I see that was fairly incoherent. Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.

The FIRST bolded was the HUGE warning to me.....that is why I posted......I AGREE with his approach (2nd bolded)and believe that
being PROACTIVE and informed is the ONLY factor that will save your ass from medical errors. It troubles me that pills are the
answer to EVERYTHING (from a medical standppoint and from a financial standpoint of pharmco/doctor alliances.) The AMOUNT OF
PILLS/RX'S that an individual ingests EVERY DAY has accumlative effect on the body (because of the fillers used, because of the
quality control of the mfg. and also because of the ingredients source....IF you can minimize the intake of rx's, it is much easier to
track what is going on with your body.....JMO.....the reason why I state"it is NOT better living thru chemistry."JMO
