JOY International
JOY International was founded over 30 years ago and its mission is to rescue children from the sex trade around the world and here in the U.S. They are having a music festival and the Barefoot, Bluegrass, & BBQ Festival, to raise money to help rescue more children and build safe houses to place them in once rescued. It will be a fun family day with great bluegrass bands, including Mountain Holler, Steel Pennies, Giddyup Kitty, Crow Hill, Jeff Scroggins & Colorado, and headlining it, The Farewell Drifters. There will also be yummy food, ice cream, activities for the kids, pedicures/foot massages for the adults, henna artists, a Barefoot Walk, and much, much more! Come join the fun! Tickets are $25 if purchased before Aug 1st, and then $35. Special group rates are available, and kids 15 and under are free. The 285 Tourism Committee of the Conifer and Platte Canyon Chambers of Commerce is a group of business members interested in helping promote tourism along the 285 Corridor in order to help support our local economy. Pick up a copy of our brand new Foothill Adventure Maps - filled with shopping, dining, outdoor activities and more from Morrison to Grant. If you are interested in helping promote tourism in any way, let us know, we'd love to hear your ideas!
