Wildflowers of the 285 area

I have been trying to grow different 'strains' of columbines for years. Most of what I plant, where I want them to be, die. The 'volunteers' will grow and flourish a few inches to several feet away, in cracks in the driveway, right over the sprinkler head, in the walkway, or anywhere else I don't want them!

Columbines HAVE to be female!

Great photos so far! After wandering around the property snapping photos I realized something...New Zealand's south island is beautiful, but here on 285, we have many more flowers! (Although the last image I posted is from N.Z.'s south island, at timberline)

Very nice. There was a forest of Columbines yesterday in Hall Valley just past the campgrounds on my way to Gibson Lake trailhead.

beautiful pics, I wish I had a better camera. Mine are "pale" compared to yours. But here are a few more from today's Rosalie trail hike

I was hoping to find some primroses, but none at the trail, maybe its too late already.
