Large panorama near Deckers from Veterans Day. Caught some beautiful Rainbows on small blue Copper Johns. Saw some monsters but biggest I landed was about 17" and fat.
Bluebirds are pretty skittish. This past month I have and the opportunity to feed a number of birds from my hand (chickidees and pigmy nuthatches are real easy). I have been trying to get some better pictures of our bluebirds since they showed up in mid-march. I had to use my truck as a blind with a tripod outside and a remote shutter switch. It finally paid off yesterday somewhat although the fine focus is still a bit off. After sitting in the truck for only 5 minutes I had my first vistors.
Mothers Day. Male bluebird sharing a worm with mom.
On the plate: meal works, peanut butter suet and some dried berries. This mix also attracted a few nuthatches and chickadeees. Bluebirds win out in competition with them while there are worms on the plate.
