I70/Crash/MM 256 was created by jf1acai

Crews are responding to a reported rollover crash involving a semi on EB I70 at MM 256.

Edited to remove image because CDOT changed feed.

Per CDOT:

Closed
I-70 Eastbound Mt. Vernon Canyon (Milemarker 254-258)

Closed because of overturned semi trailer. Traffic exiting at MM 254 Genesee use US 40, or exit 244 and use US 6. Road closure began July 4th, 2011 at 12:53pm. Alternate route is US 40 or US 6.

Travel Alert
Closed: I-70 EB Mt Vernon Cyn, clean-up continues after a rollover accident involving one semi-tractor trailer, major delays. Alternate route US 6 Clear Creek Cyn. US 40 open but slow in the area.

From personal observation, there is now increased traffic on I70 EB East of Morrison exit.

Per CDOT:

UPDATE: One lane eastbound I-70 open at Mt. Vernon Canyon. Accident clean up continues. Major delays still expected as traffic is released. US 6 or US 40 are preferred alternate routes.
