The eastbound I-70 closure is extended to 5:00 p.m. as crews continue to deal with unstable rock. We appreciate the public's understanding during a frustrating travel day. We will reopen the road as soon as it is safe.

Eastbound I-70 will remain closed well beyond the 3:00 pm hoped-for release. More rocks, big rocks, have come down near Idaho Springs.

Snow moving into the area. Recommend hunkering down where you are.

I-70 WB: Road open at Exit 248 - Beaver Brook; Floyd Hill. Following rock slide cleanup.

From CSP
The moment everyone has been waiting for...I-70 WB is back open!

Now please contain your enthusiasm as you drive because the roads may be slick. You really don't want to be the one responsible for I-70 closing again!
