Observations from a 285 Traveler:
Pleasant Park to Windy Point- wet only until Stop4Gas, then lots of slippery deep slush at Windy Point, beware!

Passenger Vehicle Traction Law
  • US 285 Southbound / Northbound between Pine Jct. and Morrison (Milemarker 229-250)
  • I-70 Westbound / Eastbound between Vail and Copper Mountain (Milemarker 178-195)
  • US 6 Westbound / Eastbound Loveland Pass (Milemarker 220-229)
  • CO 9 Southbound / Northbound Hoosier Pass (Milemarker 73-80)
Passenger vehicles are required to have snow or mud/snow tires, use chains/alternative traction devices, or be a 4WD/AWD vehicle.

Commercial Vehicle Chain Law
  • CO 9 Southbound / Northbound Hoosier Pass (Milemarker 73-80)
Chains or alternative traction devices (ATDs) required for all CMV, including buses and vans of 16+ capacity.

Passenger vehicle traction law lifted
US 285 in both directions between MM 229 (Pine Junction) and MM 250 (near Lakewood)
I-70 in both directions between MM 178 (Vail) and MM 195 (Vail Pass)
