Forest Estates Road in Evergreen Washed Out

The storm earlier today caused extensive flooding and damage to Forest Estates Road in Evergreen.

From Chris at AlphaPixel:
Forest Estates Road washed out in the vicinity of 34038 Forest Estates Rd. Road closed at the Brook Forest Fire Station. Roads & bridges estimates at least 2 hours until a bypass can be built. Washout passable by foot and local residents are shuttling people on ATVs. People are parking around the fire station and Brook Forest Inn and walking home.

Roads and Bridges wants people to know that both this washout and the closure on lower Brook Forest Road (now reopened) were caused by debris dams caused by cut timber -- slash and logs that people had cut for mitigation but had not cleared from the flood plain. They REALLY want people to know to get their timber debris where it can't be washed away.
