Updated, 5:40pm - A new wildfire in Boulder County is being reported near Peewink Mountain off of Sugarloaf Road / CO 122. Evacuations are being ordered and the sheriff and fire departments are going door to door to get people out of the area.

A staging area is being established as fire fighting units including at least one hot shot crew. Also on the blaze are one air tanker and one helicopter. Radio traffic says that the "fire is still running" and pushing into federal land.

The blaze, approximatley 3 ½ miles northeast of Nederland is reported to be two to five acres in size and started at approximately 4:30pm.

Roads in the area that are blocked off include Ridge Road at Highway 72, Cold Springs and Summer Access Road at Boulder Canyon Drive (CO 119).

Areas being evacuated via reverse 9-1-1 calls include Cold Springs, Ridge Road, and the San Anton Mountain subdivisions. An evacuation center has been opened at the Nederland Community Center at 750 Highway 2.

Burn area is 2-3 acres most of it Federal property with some of it being private.
