...STRONG WINDS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP IN THE FOOTHILLS TONIGHT...

.A STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL DEVELOP ACROSS COLORADO IN
ADVANCE OF THE NEXT STORM SYSTEM...AND THIS WILL RESULT IN STRONG
GUSTY WINDS IN THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS. THESE ARE PREFRONTAL OR
CHINOOK WINDS THAT WILL PRECEDE A STRONG COLD FRONT THAT WILL MOVE
ACROSS NORTHEAST COLORADO ON MONDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DENVER HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH LATE
TONIGHT.

* TIMING...WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE ACROSS THE FRONT RANGE
FOOTHILLS LATE THIS AFTERNOON WITH HIGH WINDS POSSIBLE THROUGH
TONIGHT.

* WINDS...WEST WINDS WILL BLOW 25-40 MPH AND SOME GUSTS ABOVE 70
MPH ARE POSSIBLE EXPECIALLY BETWEEN MIDNIGHT AND 6AM.

* IMPACTS...DRIVERS OF LIGHTWEIGHT AND HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES
SHOULD CONSIDER AVOIDING NORTH-SOUTH ROADS IN THE FOOTHILLS
TONIGHT.

HIGH WIND WATCH IS CANCELLED.

THE NATL WEATHER SVC IN DENVER HAS CANCELLED THE HIGH
WIND WATCH.

WHILE STRONG WINDS ARE STILL EXPECTED TONIGHT.IT APPEARS THAT
THE THREAT OF DAMAGING WINDS IS LWR THAN PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT.
WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AS A COLD FRONT
APPROACHES.WITH PEAK GUSTS IN THE 50 TO 75 MPH RANGE OVERNIGHT.
RESIDENTS ARE STILL ENCOURAGED TO PREPARE THEIR PROPERTIES FOR THE
FIRST STRONG WIND EVENT OF THE SEASON.& EXERCISE CAUTION
DRIVING LIGHT WEIGHT VEHICLES IN WINDY AREAS.

IT WILL REMAIN WINDY THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEK.AND
THERE IS ANOTHER THREAT OF HIGH WINDS AS THIS WEATHER SYSTEM
DEPARTS ABOUT TUESDAY.
