Date/Time of Incident: February 18, 2011 @ 7:30 AM
Location of Incident: 19052 Timber Falls Trail, Littleton, CO 80127
Type of Incident: Single family residence explosion and fire
On Friday February 18, 2011 Inter-Canyon Fire/Rescue responded to a report of an explosion
and house fire at 19052 Timber Falls Trail in Littleton about 5:45 PM this evening. The
explosion was heard and felt by homeowners for several miles around the area. Initial units on
scene found the home destroyed and debris scattered for 100 yards in all directions. Small grass
fires surrounding the site of the home were also identified. Firefighters from Inter-Canyon
Fire/Rescue performed a rapid search of the area and found no patients in the area. Responding
firefighters initiated fire suppression of the grass fires. The large log frame home was
completely destroyed in an apparent explosion and subsequent fire. The area of this home is
remote and is not served by fire hydrants. The homeowner was located away from the fire and
was responding to the area.
The Inter-Canyon Fire Marshall initiated an immediate investigation into the cause of the fire,
speaking with firefighters, the homeowners, and neighbors. The exact cause of the explosion
and blaze remains under investigation. Results of the investigation are not expected for several
days.
Additional agencies responding to the fire included firefighters and apparatus from Elk Creek
Fire Department and Indian Hills Fire Department , as well as deputies from the Jefferson
County Sheriff’s Office. The cooperative efforts of all the first responders limited the spread of
the fire and no injuries were reported.

I would like to point out that Platte Canyon Fire also reponded to this fire. This fire took all of the community to get to it, get water to it, etc. And they will be monitoring the fire overnight. Many thanks to all of our First Responders, Fire Fighters, Sheriffs, and dispatchers.

Kudos to all!

Very good cooperation among all of our community Emergency Responders.

Kudos, and Thanks!

For clarity, this is the same fire covered here .

Thanks also to the members of the scanner team who assisted with the monitoring in the chat room.

Shouldn't this thread be combined or merged with the original thread where the this fire and explosion occurred
I didn't find this in active topics. Is there a problem?
Aren't scanner posts an important part of this site?
hmmmmmmm.

They are an important part of this site unless they take over the other threads apparently. Personally I would think scanner threads would be more important than a lot of the other topics and once they are done they will go down the list and magically disappear but I am probably wrong as usual.
