Lawsuit alleges missing sign caused '09 Bailey crash -Flume

The semitrailer driver who was injured in an August 2009 crash in downtown Bailey has filed a lawsuit against Castle Rock-based Scott Contracting Inc. and Alert Traffic Control, alleging that their removal of a caution sign caused his crash. Details in this week's Flume.

Ok, so the sign was missing but he couldn't tell that the road was heading downhill fairly rapidly and therefore low gears might be a good idea!?!?!

Sounds to me like an ID10T who shouldn't have been driving that kind of rig if he can't recognize a significant downgrade, to put it mildly, without a sign to tell him about it.

IMO, he is just doing whatever he can to avoid responsibility.
