The Platte Canyon High School football team jumped a crucial hurdle last weekend and won its first game of the state playoff season, defeating the Wray High School Eagles.
The Huskies have made it to the playoffs for the past three years as a 1A school, but lost the first game each year.
In the first round, all the higher-sedeed teams beat the lower-seeded teams, except the ninth-seeded Platte Canyon team which faced eighth-seeded Wray on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Wray and took away the win, 30-14.
