What kind of handgun are you?

I shot bow somewhere in the 60's. The next time I thought about it bows had too many moving parts and I figured I might as well have a fire arm.

So what would be a good gun for a beginner?

It is my belief that the perfect handgun for a beginner is a flintlock pistol. The process of charging the barrel, seating the ball and wading, and priming the flashpan gets the shooter more involved in the mechanics of what is going on with the process of shooting. It also has a calming effect and lets the shooter have some time between shots to contemplate. Totally enjoyable shooting which lets you get into the science of the handgun.

And they are inexpensive.

OK, can't deny that, but I found it got frastraing, due to the movement between trigger squeeze & shot. Never hit the target (maybe once).

.22 single action, worked well.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. This week, the picture is finally complete. First, the Obama White House decided to leap headfirst into the gun-control debate. Then came the response from Congress, which is far more interested in investigating the "Fast and Furious" scandal in which federal agents allowed thousands of guns to be "walked" into Mexico and furnished to drug cartels. And now the final piece – Obama has filed his papers to run for re-election.

That in a nutshell is all gun owners need to know about the 2012 presidential election. After two years of avoiding the gun-control debate (and violating his own campaign promises to push for additional restrictions), Obama is finally showing his true colors on this important issue. Let's not forget that this is the same candidate who once espoused a total ban on handguns, and more recently supported a nationwide ban on Right-to-Carry. And if he couldn't get that done, he said he would support increasing the taxes on guns and ammunition by 500 percent. Now he is trying to be measured about his gun-control objectives, using vague and gauzy rhetoric his handlers hope will be difficult to hang around his neck.

Not trying to argue Eddie, but may I ask why you liked that so much? I'm assuming that it is because CG is a woman, but it may very well be that you are anti-gun. That is all I am trying to determine.
