Trolling is different from deliberate disruption by stalking a member, posting all over the place where the post does makes no sense to a thread, etc. Trolling is putting out the bait there are degrees to this. We always remember that trolls are not there to be reasonable but if you take the bait.....
Funny comments add to discussion and make a thread funny. Constant and deliberate disruption causes problems for the whole forum and that is when we step in and even then we inform the user many times until it is clear that they are just here to disrupt the board.
The very few times a member has ended up in Q, it was to the point of pleading. Many, many emails and by that time warnings. We don't even warn until way down the line in the process. The Q works to let the user stay if they like and post as much as they like and we can be sure our members are safe. If they choose to leave it is usually because they just cannot do what they came here to do and that is to disrupt and upset people on purpose.
This is a far cry from the process on the other board you guys may be thinking of.

This poster, in particular, has an obsessive need for an audience (hence they came back under another nic, and won't form their own blog on which to spew because they know no one would listen but those who already agree with them and their stated goal in life is to "remind the cretins that they are cretins"). If all of you want to, in essence, "vote this poster off" all you have to do is Foe them. Each and every one of you - like an old-fashioned shunning. Once they have no audience, their only recourse is to come back under another nic, yet again, get found out, yet again, and get Ignored, yet again. Or have their friends quote their posts for them.
