Chris Christie: the most dangerous Republican

22 Apr 2011 21:32 #1 by kresspin
To the surprise of Republicans – and, to be sure, much of the media – it turns out that Americans like austerity a lot more in rhetoric than practice. A majority support public sector workers and do not blame "overpaid" janitors and "featherbedded" firefighters for the recession. And conservatives have almost certainly overestimated the public's appetite for the fanatical bashing of public school teachers. While Republicans in Wisconsin have managed to pass their anti-union legislation, a backlash in defense of worker rights is now gaining steam. The campaign to recall the Republican state senators now underway in Wisconsin has remade what began as a defensive maneuver into an opportunity to advance.

Americans are quick to defend broad-based entitlements like social security or rights like collective bargaining.

It is all in the phrasing. After so many workers in the private sector have lost their jobs or part of their wages, they feel the public worker should also expect to not receive their cadillac health care and pension plans that they pay little or nothing for.

The issue I have with this is that sometimes an individual takes a lower paying job because it has better bennies. These benefits are part of the job contract. Do you really believe it is okay to renege on them? This would go for both public and private sector jobs. Personally, I believe a deal is a deal.

Personally I saw that Christie was in the midst of a debt crisis for his state and he explained that to the Public sector folks, telling them that for the state to continue it's business, it had to tighten its belt, and that included the public sector people as well as the private sector. No one wants to suffer, but it made sense to me that all had to share by tightening.

Just because I stated yesterday that I was looking at Christie, not Trump, on another thread, it appears that Kresspin is now looking to demonize him. Gee Kresspin, I'm just one voter.

I've got it. I'm now looking at Obama. Will that work?

I noticed that too Nmysys, kresspin just wants to stir up the water and "attempt" to shoot down anyone who may threaten the messiah.....pretty funny and predictable.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Christie may be the most dangerous Republican because he is a fiscal conservative but quite moderate in other issues. So if he ran for President, he would attract quite a few independent and moderate Dems into voting for him.

Yes, Nmnutz, in the great conspiracy EVERYONE is out to get you and targets you. They keep track of all your posts and work to discredit you by posting alternative stories. It's all about you. rofllol
