Cindy Sheehan (remember her?) doesn't believe OBL is dead. Will the media spread her grave concern? Will Maureen Dowd praise her "absolute moral authority"? Right. She was only Joan of Arc while she was trashing Bush. Now that she's biting the ankles of their guy, the media ignores her like the kook she is.

Just think to yourself--they paraded Saddam's dead sons around to prove they were dead--why do you suppose they hastily buried this version of OBL at sea? If I considered Cindy Sheehan to be any sort of "moral authority" I suppose I would give it the credence it deserves...which is to say, none.

I give her comments about the same weight I would give Breitbart's, or any of the other FauxNews birthers.

If this operation had gone badly and Obama had gone on TV and said "we" instead of "I", can you imagine the uproar from the conservatives here.....they would be screaming that Obama was to blame and he should take full responsibility for the failure......but it didn't go badly, and it was successful, yet he is not allowed to take credit?

With what would you replace the "I"s in his speech? He was explaining to the American people what had happened and why....the final decision was his and he had to tell the people how and why he came to the decision to do this....he IS commander in Chief, much as many of you hate that idea.

I agree....a lot of this nitpicking, like about how many "I"s are in his speech, is nothing more than sour grapes.

That is bull and you know it.
All conservatives I know give credit to the military regardless. Had this turned into another "Black hawk down" nobody I know would have blamed Obama, but rather been extremely mournful of the loss. I give credit to Obama for authorizing the takedown. He deserves kudos....a lot of them in fact, because he is one that many of us thought would balk at using the military when push came to shove, he deserves a lot of kudos for proving me wrong.

Using "I" in speeches is poor, especially when you aren't directly responsible. It would have been ok for him to say it once. "I authorized the strike". People who use I too much are too full of themselves. Haven't you ever been to a business function where the speaker is a full of himself/herself CEO. You can tell where the people who work for his company, who ACTUALLY get the work done rank. It is all about the CEO, and most of the liberals here are extremely negative towards this type of attitude. You should say the same about the president. It isn't all about him, and he should be very humble, and speak as if he was, for having such a phenomenal military to accomplish this activity.

I disagree RenegadeCJ....he had to explain what led him to authorize something as serious as going into a sovereign nation without their consent to kill bin Laden..he did that....he also gave an excellent speech and did explain it well to the American people. The fact that you can't see that is your problem....I stand by what I posted and it seems to be born out in thread after thread here.....you all would have been quick to lay all the blame on him, but are too petty and partisan to give him the credit. He did more than just give the order for this operation, he has had to OK certain operations and gathering of Intel all through this process....he kept the focus on bin Laden.
