President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, along with members of the national security team, receive an update on the mission against Osama bin Laden in the Situation Room of the White House, May 1, 2011. Please note: a classified document seen in this photograph has been obscured. (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)
.

It's obvious they are watching Celebrity Apprentice and Hilary can't believe NeNe.....

really nothing to make light of. They are watching as a very dangerous mission is going on, even with one black hawk helicopter down. The room is full of very somber expressions. This was a very historic moment and the results were successful. I am not sure if they were watching live video as there were cameras mounted on the JSOC helmuts

Agreed, but as we all know oblama is in "Campaign Mode" (I don't trust the man) and IMO & really believe that G.W. would have NOT released this type of photo. It took a while for him to release the pictures of him on 911 in Air Force One.
Also just HOW many times did oblama say "I" in that speech?

G.W. wouldn't have released such photo because he was so incompetent, he never got that close to Bin Laden, much less kill him. It sure didn't take any time for him to release photos of landing on the deck of a carrier with a "Mission Accomplished" sign in the background. It sure didn't take any time for him to release pictures of standing in front of a church in New Orleans after his big "flyover" of the Katrina disaster area--(while not doing anything for weeks...and people died...)

TPP,
Like Viking and some others on here you are mistaking taking 'credit' for taking 'responsibility'. I have yet to see anywhere that Obama personally took any direct credit for this action. If this mission had gone bad he would not only taken responsibility but also blame.

And Seriously? Bush would have released this photo in a second and it would have had him with a smile and thumbs up and Cheney ringing his hands, Strangelove like, in the back ground.

Well, believe as you will.
You didn't answer my question.
I don't think he would have, you believe what the msm have told you about the man, I do not.
O KNOW doubt oblama had to give final approval, but it was more about the servicemen & women, NOT him. And he doesn't get that. G.W. did get it!
Haven't heard anybody "blame" oblama for the lost helicopter, it's war we understand that. It's to bad that others don't!
I'll do your research for ya, (as usual) and find his transcript.

"And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.
Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.
Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
As we do, we must also reaffirm that the United States is not –- and never will be -– at war with Islam. I’ve made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims. Indeed, al Qaeda has slaughtered scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own. So his demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.
Over the years, I’ve repeatedly made clear that we would take action within Pakistan if we knew where bin Laden was.
After nearly 10 years of service, struggle, and sacrifice, we know well the costs of war. These efforts weigh on me every time I, as Commander-in-Chief, have to sign a letter to a family that has lost a loved one, or look into the eyes of a service member who’s been gravely wounded.

Ok, I'll give ya that it could be taken, that he's not takes credit, or does he?
I see it from my bais, you see it from yours. Can we agree not to agree? and move on to the FACT that waterboarding lead us to the slimeball, & Gitmo is still open?

I don't see why he shouldn't say 'I.' You call it taking credit. Ok, he most likely is. So what? He did receive the info, give the orders, etc. Do you expect him to name every single person who helped? Of course not. Bottom line.......HE IS the President and that is his job. I'm an Independent and I saw Bush bragging all the time. Obama is telling you what happened. Good for all of them for getting the job done - and he does share the credit.

All this crap about Obama supposedly "taking too much credit" is just that, crap. Obama succeeded where Bush failed and that is the bottom line some of you just can't deal with. There's really no more to say about it.

The successful killing of Osama bin Laden was the result of years of effort on the part of many, many people. There is no "I" in "Team", and this was truly a team effort.

My thanks to ALL involved for a job well done.
