False Prophet Harold Camping made Millions on Doomsday Scam

22 May 2011 10:43 - 22 May 2011 10:47 #1 by daisypusher

Doomsday "prophet" Harold Camping, founder of the Family Radio Network, is under fire today for his big, hilariously false prediction that today, May 21 would be the end of the world. Some people are annoyed, while others are chuckling about the prophecy. But a handful are outraged, and I don't blame 'em. They realize some innocent people were taken for a ride by a man who is now $80 million dollars richer, thanks to his apocalypse message.

And people thought he was crazy.

Will he get to keep the money as the bankers did when they predicted the end of the financial world?

I am shocked! But lets keep it in perspective he spent at least a mil on billboards.

Hi Jim - I cannot seem to fix the title - can an "F" be added for "False"?

I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for those who gave him money.....even if they thought the world WAS coming to an end....a little logic would tell them that he wouldn't need that money, they would be better off giving it to some sinful friend who had no chance of being raptured.....I'm sure there are many who would have taken it!

I saw a full-page ad from this clown on the back of Friday's USA Today.

Wow - seems there was a lot of money supporting this guy.

At last count, between $72-80 MILLION ...

Of course, they won't admit that it's garbage and b.s.... They'll just lay low for awhile, claim a "math error", pick a new date, and con the gullible into ponying up more millions as they wait for the next non-event. Since he pulled it back in 1994 and was wrong then too, you have to wonder how many times the stupid fall for the same ruse...

When's the next end of world date? I think I've seen Dec 21st, 2012?

While I'd like to make $80 mil off of it, it's not original with me. Can I at least make 5 cents per view if I add it to my sig?

According to Google searches, Jesus will arrive in 2018.

And again in 2023. Mop up? So you've got a couple of fundraising possibilities!

Me: I'm betting it's 2032 (those events, all that year, are the end for sure)! :)

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
