No need to defend yourself. You've always struck me as being proud of what you are.

TPP wrote: Gee, all I can talk about is my 55 years of life, and the things I have or have not done. I'm scared of heights, so I'll NEVER jump out of a perfectly good airplane for the thrill of it, No THANKS! I really dislike a blood draw, but have no problem helping somebody bleeding to death. I saved my baby sister when she fell in the pool, and I gave her Mouth to mouth, (and have taken 1st aid & CPR since) and my parents have never believe me, that's cool, she's alive that's what matters. I've taken 3 50-mile hikes (2 though the Sierra Nevadas, and 1 up Mt. Whitney, which was AWESOME!), this was went I was in the Boy Scouts, I was close to Eagle Scout but we moved from Simi to San Diego and never got back into it, so I made Life Scout. I'm was in the "Order of the Arrow", which wasn't easy. We will not go into all the fighting, nor the Mexican that never came back to school after the beating we gave him. O I got my share also, but we never found out what happened to him or his family, and that will haunt me until the end of my days. Found booze & drugs more intresting.
Haven't had a beer since I was 19. Off drugs since about that time. and haven't smoked since Dec. 26th, 2005.

BUT!
My best and most cherished accomplishment, is staying with my wife (rather her staying with me) for 37years, we will celebrate 35years in NOV. and we have 2 very good kids that I'm so proud of I can't put it in words. PERIOD!

So I ask you vl, WHO's the ALPHA MALE?
'Nuff said.

I am...If those are the highlights of your life, then I don't know what to say. It would take me 3 months to post mine. Maybe I'll do 1 year a day for 48 days...

I was born on a stormy October night at the Jacksonville Naval Hostpital. My father was a Captain in the Air Force and a highly decorated F-86D pilot in Korea. My mother was a Air Force Nurse with a 167 IQ. The Korean war was over, and my father was stationed in the states again. I think at Andrews AFB in D.C., but my mother was staying with his mother in St Augustine for the last month of her pregnancy. My father told me the second I was born lightening struck the hospital and all the lights went out. It was pitch black and I hadn't yet taken my first breath.. I did it on my own (started breathing) and i've been doin it on my own ever since. I was told that I was very independant baby, and that I never cried ever. It's just not in my DNA I guess. To the utter astonishment of my parents as soon as I could stand up I was jumpin outta the crib, my parents told me they had to put a matress and pillows around the crib because there were afraid I was gonna break my neck. I was fearless and I'd just jump out and start crawlin. I don't know what I was lookin for or where I was going but my mom siad that she left the front door open one day and after discovering I was not in the crib, and after a frantic search, they found me two doors down near some much older kids. My mom told me hardly nobody could ever pick me up- She said I would'nt cry, but I'd instantly stiffen up, arch my back and try to get away. Only granpaw who was a engineer on the KATY railroad could pick me up and I have a few pictures of me sitting on his lap with a pipe in my mouth..Granpaw smoked a tabbaco pipe and I guess I would grab it and stick it in my mouth. My mom said I wouldn't let anyone love me either..I recoiled when anyone tried to kiss my face or anything, and they said I was so cute that it was hard not to try to kiss me and that I was so adorable that they worried that someone might steal me. Seriously, thats what the said. I spent most of my first few years in Washington D.C. as my father was stationed there. I remember I could see the Capital building from the house which I think technically was in Virgina.

Stay tuned for year 2

Doesn't sound like it's cool if you mentioned it here? But anyway- They know you better than anybody, and as I read that, I felt you were embelishing the drowning story. Just a feeling I got

Yes I am, and I never lie- but I will admit that I could be a little more diplomatic in the way talk about myself and my acomplishments. I can see how some insecure types might percieve it as borderline bragging.

Tell me, VL - are those eyes of your brown? You're so often full of crap, they have to be. Either that, or you spend a great deal on laxitives.

Well...I don't really feel right talking about myself............... but

I just don't have the time or energy to pretend to be like everyone else. To an extent people are kinda like chemelions and sociopaths- and like everybody else I wanna be liked too, but i'm just too lazy to try.

  EMBELISHING is your thing have you ever read your posts? I told ya I don't lie. I've proved you have...
BTW, that was my pre-teen years & a little of teen years (was a democrap 1st 2 elections, then forgot all about politics, my bad, but sex, drugs, ROCK & Roll, & booze where more important)... I've often thought (with the memory & help of others) of writing a book, been asked too a couple of times, but...
we all go though the same sh*t, and the ONLY real reason would be to help folks to stay you can live though the sh*t.
Still it's not about me it's about whom I've touched or not, and how...
