Java was discontinued in 1997. You better unplug your labtop, and drive over it with your Toyota Prius. Its the only sure way to stop it from spreading to the rest of your labtops.

Now i'm wondering if you ever even know what youre talking about. Without getting too technical and to put it in laymens terms even you can understand: It updates on all our computers, but with my slow wi-Fi connection here the update proceses is sucking up too many of my labtops resources and slowing performance..

Seriously VL, in Firefox you can go to tools addons plugins and disable JAVA. It doesn't do much for me and I have it disabled always. You can turn off Java automatic updates somewhere in your settings.
Javascript is different, and is needed for alot of web pages to function, including videos and flash.
