Hmmmm. Can you apply the same logic to your outrage over the White House staff getting raises? Don't they deserve that money? Or are you saying that only billionaires deserve their money and Democratic staffers don't?

Wow! Are you even being serious right now? You use to have some very intelligent conversations. That thread was about how Obama flat out lied, and promised a pay freeze and then gave them raises up to 125%! And you are talking apples and oranges again. You are talking about money that the taxpayers have to pay for those staffers raises, which yes they can get the average 4% which most Americans get, and I am talking about Billionaires who MADE their money and taxpayers aren't paying them that. Serious, take a break and regroup. This is embarassing. Normally when people fling enough crap at least SOME sticks. But these posts are so out there that nothing makes sense.

Question for you then Viking - do you only consider Billionaires as "the wealthy"?

But the reason G.W. did it is also why anyone you elect in 2012 will continue down the same path.

Everybody wants tax cuts but they don't want to make the cuts that will balance the budget. Oh, they TALK about wanting them, but when it comes right down to it, when someone cuts whatever YOUR pet funding project is, whether Social Security or military defence, people yowl and complain and will in turn throw THOSE "bums" out of office, too.

It's basically a no-win situation at this point. I don't even blame G.W. all that much. He knew he had to cut taxes and he also knew he couldn't cut spending.

Which goes to show that conservative lies and conservative shennanigans claiming to be "the party of lower taxes" and "fiscal austerity" wasn't any more true then as it is now.
