Getting serious in Minnesota

Things are about to get really serious in Minnesota. Due to the government shutdown, bars, restaurants, and stores can not replenish their alcohol stocks, as they must purchase a $20 state alcohol purchasing cards and can not do so. Further, MillerCoorsMolsen must pull all of their products from the shelves as they failed to renew their 3 year license before the shutdown.

This might force a resolution.

truck drivers can't pull over for their designated "rest time" since the stops are closed. They are hovering at the WI border

ugghh Miller coors, no problem. Start messing with my micro brews and they will be sorry.

A good incentive to learn how to home brew beer and stock up on Hops!

I used to brew my own beer. It was fun! I had a whole group of friends that did and each summer, we would have a chilli cook-off and bring all the different beers. It was really just an excuse to bring all the beers. Isn't there a beer brewing supply place in Pine now?

I need to learn. Seems too much like cooking to me though. I do like being taste tester/ quality control. I'm just not a good cook. Except for breakfast, I can do that. :)

just have to "cook" once in the process, in the beginning... it's call "boiling the wort"....makes your whole house smell like a skunk... it's awesome!

I hear it's getting even worse because without suppliers being able to get tobacco tax-stamps, the convenience stores are going to start running out of cigarettes soon... I don't think they want to even THINK about the riots that will happen when the citizens can't feed their habit AND get beer!

Let me understand this. People can't get their smokes and beer because goverment isn't there to stamp and tax it. Not like they are doing anything to get it to market, they just want their cut.

One more reason to grow your own tobacco and bottle your own brewskis.
