I know that you probably won't understand this, since you have demonstrated an unwillingness to understand other people's arguments that go against your beliefs, but the point I was attempting to make is that you are painting the conversion of our society into a nanny state based on this single event.

Aside from the fact that I don't like conservative politics....much too restrictive for me, and way too interested in peoples private lives and trying to legislate morality......conservatives just seem so up-tight about everything. You all live in absolutes, in black and white. Well the world doesn't work that way.....reality is shades of grey.....it ebbs and flows with the changes in the power structure and in reaction to world events and sentiments. As this nation grows it's needs change, the economic climate changes, and people change. Try as you will Viking, you conservatives cannot remake this country and it's citizens to fit your narrow vision. There will always be about half the nation that will push back.....either learn to compromise with that half or forever be frustrated. Because that half will not give in to your narrow mindedness nor your warped vision for America. We can embrace some points of mutual concern and agreement, but we ain't buying the whole conservative package....ever.

You guys crack me up 12 years ago some of you were going to move to Canada. Yet here you are.

Get over the CONSERVATIVE and LIBERAL name tags. Debate as individuals. It must be quite a load to hold the entire republican or democratic party on your back. Got a beef about any issue? send it to your reprsentative in congress, they dont read 285Bound

I hesitate to mention this for fear that your head might explode if a ray of truth penetrated it, but do you think those small farmers in your home town went out of business because of "nanny state" liberals or because they were forced out of business by huge agri-business mega-corporations and their political clout?

Be prepared to defend your answer with actual facts, and not just a bunch of emotional word salad peppered with insulting adjectives.
