Obama officially threatens to veto 'Cut, Cap and Balance'

18 Jul 2011 11:42 #1 by The Viking
The House Rules Committee is expected to take up the measure on Monday, and it is likely to receive a floor vote on Tuesday. The measure would cut spending in Fiscal Year 2012 by $111 billion, cap future spending at 18 percent of gross domestic product and approve a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. It would also raise the debt limit.

So Obama said he will veto the only bill givenm to him even if it passes. The dems have STILL not given an alternative bill!

Of course he doesn't want a permanent solution that would FORCE our government to balance a budget. Lok at the chart where he has and is taking us!

Add a $Trillion a year for the next 10 years and he needs another $10 trillion at least for his plans to work!

some compromise....the Republicans think they can get everything they want and not compromise with the Democrats. Nice try, but the Democrats still have the presidency and the senate, sooner or later the Republicans will have to realize this is not their show to run......

Let him veto it. It will just reinforce his image as a tax and spend big liberal.

Why can't Democrats ever compromise on spending?

I do believe they have, Obama has actually proposed further cuts in spending than the Republicans, but it included an increase in taxes for the top 1%.......Republicans have compromised on nothing.

I hope he does....

"My way or the highway" is not "compromise", and the Tea Party will just further solidify their status as "The Party of 'No'..." GOOD!
