Since you give the impression your way or no way, I am gong to take some advice given to me by a veteran friend of mine and just let it go. You are right VL one of the reasons for serving is for the protection of freedom of speech. Go for it and enjoy yourself. Have a great day

You do like to play the victim Navy-You always try to force me into insulting the troops but my father was career Air Force and my first 6 years were spent on Air Force bases from Andrews to Fukuoma Japan so I don't hate the troops..I hate the wars.

So VL...why are you giving the impression that you want the troops to pay for the mistakes or inaction or whatever you want to call it of our government? You are giving the impression that you do not like the troops or what they stand for or what they are doing.

So if the United States were in a spot similar to after Vietnam and before Gulf War I, where the only war we were fighting was the Cold War...would you be happy with the amount of money being spent on defense?

What I meant is that if we have to stiff anybody..I say stiff the hired killers and pay the teachers.

And i'm not quite sure what your asking in the second part but the Cold War was the biggest waste of money that there ever was. Just think of what both countries could have achieved if we weren't so scared of eachother?

One day this world is going to face a crisis like an approaching astroid or something and maybe we could have do something about it if we hadn't wasted all our time and money making weapons to kill eachother...

CB, you are dealing with someone who is factually unencumbered, thus a waste of time if you are looking for reasonable discussion. Even the entertainment values diminishes with time.
