Reid and the Dems are waking up to reality and caving in!

Reid and the libs are finally realizing their plan and tantrums won't work! They came up with cuts and NO TAX INCREASES!! The Republicans may give Obama what he wants with this being passed through the election. Since that seems all that is important to him. His precious election. He had time for 36 eund raising events but couldn't pass a budget for two years with control of all hosues and couldn't really meet with congress to get this going till the 11th hour.

House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican, pitched his colleagues on a plan to raise the borrowing limit by about $1 trillion and match that with similar sized spending cuts — enough to last through the rest of the year, and leaving for later the heavy lifting on taxes and bigger spending items.

Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he is working on a plan to raise the debt limit by $2.7 trillion, coupled with an equal reduction in projected future spending. In a concession to Republicans, he said that plan would not include tax increases, but that the new debt level would last through the 2012 elections.

Just had to save it so you can't change it. And you are saying the Dems won't vote for Reid's plan either? That would be more proof they are all talk and won't vote for, or compormise on anything.

So let me get the record staright here. Obama threw out a plan months ago which was so stupid that it got voted down 97-0. SO Dems voted against that one. The Republicans have bought 3 bills to the table including passed one with some democrats, but Reid won't even allow it to come to a vote int he Senate. Dems said no many times again. Then Bohner comes up with a 2 tier plan that even Pelosi said is not a bad idea. Dems won't listen to it and Obama says he will veto it. Dems say no again with STILL no plan presented by them. Now Reid finally realizes that they need to compromise after 4 years of all the spending they wanted and an open checkbook, and people are saying that the Dems won't go for THEIR OWN PARTIES IDEA? Dems are just the party of NO! No on votes, and NO ideas!

They just reported that Obama was presented Reid's plan of $2.7 trillion in cuts without touching Madicare, Medicaid, or SS, and he rejected it! Obama is the biggest failure of a President in history!

And Bohner's plan is almost finished with the two teirs and the second teir says it works with the new plan base upon Obama's Congressional Commision reconmendations and Obama says he won't listen to them either! He is the most arrogant President ever! He says NO to the R's, the D's and his own congressional debt commission and then STILL tries to blame the R's. How stupid does he think Americans are?? No offense to the extremist libs on here who still have their head up his arse.

Sorry...Were raising taxes, and Obama can't say this publicly during the good faith negotiations but we always got the 14th amendmant and the country will see Obama as a real leader if he goes to that option. We hold all the cards- Obama, for political reasons would just rather include you in this process- the more times we get you on the record trying to cut Social Security and Medicare the better. It's all posturing right now and you live and die by every press conference like some sort of sap Viking

I have already figured out that you contribute nothing to the debates. At least Kate and AV add ideas. You and LJ just keep trying to shoot down everyone elses not adding anything to the discussions. You are like a child repeating the same thing over and over. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Where's the source? Where's the source? You are lying. You are lying.

Reid, since the last bill that he and the R's agreed on was shot down is now making up a smoke an mirrors bill. Saving money that was on contigent on the Afghan war continuing and $1.2 trillion that wasn't even budgeted. Why couldn't Obama go along with the bill that Reid, Bohner and even Pelosi agreed on? Because he wants to keep using fear tactics.

As I reported earlier, the president rejected a bipartisan congressional deal that would have calmed the markets, resolved the debt-ceiling crisis and restored faith in Washington politicians. President Obama was having none of it, demonstrating once and for all that the problem is NOT the House Republicans, but the election-obsessed White House.

But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is devising a sham that will never pass muster in the House. A Capitol Hill source with knowledge of the plan tells me: “It includes $1.2 trillion in OCO [Overseas Contingency Operations] savings . . . which was assumed anyway, $1.2 trillion (over $1.1 trillion less than [Majority Leader Eric] Cantor identified in the Biden talks) and $300 billion in interest savings.” A Senate aide says dryly that Reid “has about a trillion in ‘savings’ from ending the war in Iraq that’s already going to end.” And a disgusted House adviser bluntly tells me that Reid’s plan “isn’t real.”

We shouldn’t be too harsh on Reid. HE DID reach a bipartisan deal with the House. But the president squashed it. (Note to Congress: Next time don’t ask, just pass it and leave town.) Now we are back to gamesmanship.

It is extremely telling, however, that Reid’s plan contains NO tax hike. As I suspected, Obama doesn’t have enough support even in his own party (and particularly from Senate Democrats facing reelection) to pass the massive tax increases that he and his liberal base demand. And yet Obama at the last minute in negotiations with the speaker of the House last week threw in $400 billion in more taxes. There could only have been one purpose for that, since the Senate is as tax-hike-averse as the House: to create a crisis. We have finally found the president’s strong suit.

Had to document this one too so you can eat crow when taxes don't go up! Go back to the beach and leave politics to the intelligent and educated people.
