Time for a third party?

I know I'd love to see a serious third party challenger. The numbers show that I'm not the only one repulsed by the self serving partisanship that has clearly put party over country.

Towering Wave of Alienation Threatens Both GOP, Dems in 2012
By Ronald Brownstein

In the shadow of the bitterly fought agreement to raise the federal debt ceiling, the independent voters who usually hold the balance of power in American politics are expressing astronomical levels of discontent with President Obama, Congress, and the Washington system itself.
This towering wave of alienation presages more volatility for a political system that has seen the public turn from Republicans in 2004 toward Democrats in 2006 and 2008, only to snap back toward the GOP with near-record force in 2010. Now, on several key measures, the public’s assessment of Congress is even more bleak than it was at this point in the last election cycle--even as Obama’s ratings have fallen to some of the lowest levels of his presidency, particularly among independents.

It depends on whether you envision a third-party that's more to the Right of the current GOP, or one that's more progressive than what the Dems have turned into; or one that's more centrist than either of them...(which will never happen). If you need one that's more conservative, oh, I HOPE so... Take all the teabaggers and religious nuts into one place....please....

I'd like to see one that is more populist, more responsive to the voters than to the lobbyists. More centrist (since most Americans are centrists) more interested in the well being of the middle class and small business. Most importantly one that jealously guards our freedoms. What would you like to see, or are you happy with your party as it stands?

AMEN!!!! Challenger(s) - not just POTUS, but get a majority in Congress too!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

There already IS a third party: the Libertarians. Maybe they'll get more support now.

Ralph Nader is the Hugh Heffner of the political world: old and shriveled up.

Yes- lets have a third party- for those on the right- we could call it the TEA party.

For those on the left- we could call it the Socialist- or Communist party.

For those who care about a more limited, smaller government like the constitution states and liberty and civil rights-

We could call them Libertarians!

He gave Florida to Bush. Glad to see VL supports him.
