I am not looking at the party. I am voting for whoever wants smaller government, fights against out of control spending, knows how to balance a budget, knows that lower taxes and less regulations creates and attracts jobs rather than sending them overseas. Someone who fights against turning our auto industry, and banks and healthcare over to the government as they fail at everything. And someone who will put troops on our border and fine those who hire illegals. That what America beleives in and wants our government to do. Find me a Dem who votes for all that and I will look at them. Haven't seen one yet. We don't have to go to a third party, there are many within the parties who believe in that. Mostly in the Republican party.

Try reading the thread before you post on it Chickadee

I loath people that are above it all...Like "you're both wrong"...No Chickadee, there's right and wrong and what the Tea Baggers wanna do to the country is wrong. Do you have any kids? You want them making 35k/year with no vacation for 50 years, then die? Thats thier future

Then tell us what you want from a party Vicelord instead of mindlessly running down the other guy. America is becoming more about what we are against than it is what we are for. Saying no is easy. Finding solutions and applying them is hard and politically dangerous.

So are you saying that you are satisfied with the performance of the Republicans over the past 10 years?

Or if the Dems and old school Republicans win, your kids will be born with millions of dollars of debt hanging over their heads. Don't worry about us spending too much today, the kids will pay for it tomorrow.

Back to the original topic, currently both Canada and the UK have viable 3rd parties so it would be interesting to see if one developed here.
The UK one, the Liberal Democrats sounds like Clinton's new Democrats, supports social causes but isn't socialistic or pro-labor, almost an urban hipster party alternative to the Conservatives and the Labor Party.

There is no doubt our kids will be paying for our debt for decades to come. The Tea Party will continue to block any revenue increases that might help pay it down faster. Best thing we could do is make the Tea Party irrelevant by voting them all out of office and let more reasonable people start raising some cash to augment cuts in spending.

The Viking wrote: The probelm with third parties is that it hands the election to either the Dems or Republicans anyway. ...They just take awy votes from one of the main parties and hands it to the other party.

Then we need to stop thinking so small, and as if we're defeated before we've even started! If there's a Movement behind this, then there are enough votes to not just take away votes from one of the parties, but both parties simultaneously and kick 'em out of office!

Viking, I have yet to see any Republicans who get in truly make a difference and effect change that moves us toward fiscal responsibility and efficient government without catering to special interests either - show me one with their voting record to back it up, and they've got my vote (and not Perry - he's an idiot). Until then, I don't trust candidates from either party, but will continue to vote Democrat more often than not because their ideals line up with mine more than Republicans do, and continue to hold my nose at the corruption and non-productiveness of it all.

BerMtn - why do you think that just because we're liberals that automatically means we're for socialism? Way to make assumptions that aren't based in reality...

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Why are people so clueluss? The Tea Party is the ONLY reason they are even talking about cutting spending now. When the Dems controlled everything they never talked about a budget and cutting spending. They are the ONLY ones who fought for more cuts in spending. Why do you guys keep blaming them for this? And they want to close loopholes to raise revenue. You guys really don't get reality.
