Is that what this whole "Dems don't want to count the military votes" issue is all about? Seriously? I haven't investigated it, because I considered the source, but when you started talking about time extensions for absentee votes from the military, it suddenly struck me that it's not that the Dems don't want to count the military ballots, it's that they don't want to extend special voting privileges, i.e., extra time to vote, to a group of citizens based upon their occupation. Do I understand that correctly?

LJ there was an issue with this actually. What was found out was that some states were not mailing the absentee ballots early enough so that the troops could vote and get them back on time. The deadline does not change, but now states are required to mail them in a very timely manner that allows the troops to vote and get them back by the deadline which is the same for all. Now I also believe though that those that will be deployed should also notified thier state of their status. It is a two way street.
The troops serve at the convenience of the People of the United States and should be allowed to have thier vote counted.

Yes, I believe last election there were 3 or 4 states that waited until the last minute to mail them out and 1 didn't get them out in time if I recall so there was almost no chance of them getting them back and counted. And the Dems said too bad because they know they vote about 80% Republican or more.
