My family and friends include many teachers. Your generalization is pure BS. But, of course, you know that.

Apparently you don't read the rants about teachers from your conservative friends here......

I admire teachers as much or more than most any other profession.....they do what they do under very stressful conditions (yep kids cause stress) and manage to give their heart and soul to their job. Sure they work at the school 9 months a year, and every school teacher I know has to either teach summer school or get a part time summer job to make a decent living. They are more educated than the average American who has a professional job, and continue their education throughout their career. So, when I see people trash the teachers, call them liberal tools, and portray them as money hungry leeches I get really, really mad.

Sorry jf1, if you didn't appreciate my sarcasm.

I don't think this vote is for or against teachers per se, I think it is for or against government employees 'bargaining' with other government employees.

But that is just my opinion.

Concur, I do not see a lot of teacher trashing, I do see a lot of union trashing.

Stop Lying!!! No one ever called a teacher that!! We call the Unions that!! Nice try at a spin though. And I probably respect the actual teachers more than you do as you want that proffession to be controlled by unions.

I haven't seen any rants about teachers...just about the teacher's union. You know, the one whose ex head said "When school children start paying union dues, that’s when I’ll start representing the interests of school children."

And their ex counsel said this "“It is not because of creative ideas, it is not because of the merit of our position, it is not because we care about children, it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child,” Chanin says. “NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power and we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year.”

The vast majority of teachers are great, and it blows me away that those great teachers don't rise up to get rid of the bad ones, but the union won't allow that. Teachers shouldn't be exempt from performance requirements that the rest of the private sector lives by. They shouldn't get to be teachers forever without performing at the level their employer (we taxpayers) requires.

Archer, I don't know if you have seen "Waiting for Superman" yet or not....if you haven't, you should.

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

She wasn't really lying so much as intentionally misrepresenting facts Viking. There's a difference you know.

Vice Lord wrote: Friends...Voter fraud is running rampant in Wisconsin.

Well what do you know, VL was right for a change - there are violations of voter laws and collusion going on in Wisconsin. I guess he's only half right though, since it was the supporters of Democrats who, once again, appear to have been in violation of the laws.

Free BBQ and Prizes for Voters Raise Questions of Legality, Collusion

[Milwaukee, Wisc…] Two events held in Milwaukee today aimed at rewarding absentee voters could run afoul of Wisconsin law a state election official said today.

The group, Wisconsin Jobs Now! describes itself as a “coalition of community groups, neighborhood associations, faith based organizations and labor united in an effort to bring good jobs to Wisconsin now.”

http://maciverinstitute.com/2011/08/fre ... collusion/

Know the funny part? Even with the Democrats cheating and breaking election laws, the Republican still won the recall election by a larger majority than she originally won the seat with. Poetic justice.

Well duh..Do you know what a union is? They are paid to represent their members. Like a lawyer represents their client. They represent who pays them and nobody else....What do you think a union is anyway? A church group or something, always doing whats right? They represent the teachers to get them higher wages and better working conditions...Period

Clueless
