WASHINGTON -- President Obama is traveling the Midwest on a new $1.1 million bus purchased by the Secret Service, an impenetrable-looking conveyance the size of a cross-country Greyhound, painted all in black, with dark tinted windows and flashing red and blue lights.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan emphasized that the bus wasn't purchased solely for the president and would be used for other dignitaries in the future. He said the agency has not previously had buses in its fleet and was overdue to get some since it's had to protect politicians traveling by bus for decades.
In the past, the service has had to lease buses and retrofit them for that purpose.
Donovan said two buses were purchased and one is being used by Obama as he travels through Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. Both will be used by other officeholders and candidates.
Donovan declined to comment on the buses' design or capability.
It's gotta be cheaper to operate than Air Force One and all of the support aircraft and vehicles it takes every time Air Force One is flown from one location to the next. Aside from getting re-elected, what is so hell fired important that Barry needs to pay a visit to the mid-west?! If he was serious about fixing the economy he'd be back in DC calling congress back in to session and meeting with the heads of industry in an honest attempt to generate some new jobs. It begs the question, why are the citizens paying for Barry to go on an early campaign tour on their money? Campaign all you want but do it on your own dime or with money actually voluntarily donated to the campaign.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
So, on this bus tour, how many people do you think have been "conditioned" for his visit? I'll bet there won't be any Joe Plumbers within a 10 mile radius of that bus.
Traveling the Midwest by bus? I wonder if his fellow bus riders were as smelly as mine, only if Joe Biden was along for the ride.
But a bus is pretty lame, he should use a Urban Assault vehicle like Stripes or the Damnation Alley ride. Or go old school like Stalin and do a whistlestop tour in a armored train.

Thats funny, it reminded me of the Stripes Urban assault vehicle with Bill Murry. LOL
I read an article this AM that the white house issued a statement that "this was not a campaign bus tour", it is a discussion of economic policy. (tax the rich). LOL, I know a campaign bus tour when I see one.
