Except this is the anniversary of his death.

During a stop in South Carolina on Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann wished the late Elvis Presley a "Happy Birthday."

The problem: the message from the conservative congresswoman comes on the anniversary of the death of the "King of Rock and Roll."

"Before we get started, let's all say 'Happy Birthday' to Elvis Presley today," said Bachmann while speaking in the Palmetto State. "We played you a little bit of promise land when we pulled up. You can't do better than Elvis Presley."

Elvis was born on January 8, 1935.

This woman is priceless. She's the gift that keeps on giving.

I bet the staffer that handed her that bit to say has been fired. After all, candidates don't think for themselves anymore, they do what they are told.

In case you haven't seen it (if you're a Bruce Campbell fan, you'll love it, if not...well...don't bother) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0281686/

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Seen the latest polls? Bachman is already yesterday's news, but I do wonder if Gov. Perry is peaking too soon.

Maybe Michelle has a verbal migraine and said birthday instead of death.

Perry will burn out fast enough. If we think W was one not to get involved in the details, then Perry makes W look like a micromanager. The guy is an idiot and his crazy rhetoric may play in Texas, but it will not play in a general election. I think that TPaw could have survived this and possibly gone on to get the nomination, but with all the crazies out there, he wasn't raising enough money.

The crazies suck up all the oxygen leaving the serious candidates gasping for air.
