I will agree with you there. Bush totally turned a blind eye too and dropped the ball. They are both wrong, but Bush wasn't considering and Executive order to go around the will of Congress and the will of the vast majority of Americans and give up to 18 million 'illegal' immigrants amnesty.
Bush was sucking up to the Mexican President until 9/11 happened. I remember the conservatives were dismayed at George. GWB and the Republican Congress had their opportunity to solve the immigration issue; however, cleaning up the mess of Clinton from his bombing tirades of Muslim countries for eight years became a priority coupled with the economic issues caused by 9/11.
