Oh please, (Hypo)CriticalBill, the only reason that you are "outraged" is that this was a seemingly liberal group, and once again, no voter fraud was committed, and you know it.
Either get your facts accurate, or quit lying.

I think that would depend on how that illegal would vote, if illegals tended to vote Republican there would be no issue here.

From a policy perspective - a lousy idea.
The proposal will cost money - and not save the government a dime.
Let's imagine for a moment - the proposal goes through.
You check IDs at the voting booth ----
Does it change the election outcome? (unlikely)
Does it reduce expenditures? (no - it increases them)
But darnit - we know for sure them there illegals haven't exercised their rights.
Youre full of crap BB-This is where life experience comes in..I knew people in Chicago that never ever had a drivers license. And thier parents never had them either-They don't need them, theres the Elevated trains, buses, cabs and other mass transit to get you where you wanna go in a city.
While everybody in rural areas have them. I wanna vote but I doubt i'd spend a half a day in line at an illinios DMV to do it...Its voter suppression. And it's unamerican.
This is not unlike testing welfare recipients for drugs....it caters to the right wing, it makes it look like we are getting tough on people who get welfare (it's always popular with conservatives to get tough on the poor) but it it costs far more than it saves. I guess when it's ideology driving policy, and not economics, don't expect logic to play a role in the decisions.

I know people who don't have driver's license but they still have state issued ID cards.
Your people in Chicago, are they illegals? Gangsters? Living in the sewers?
I used my photo ID twice today, at Costco and my credit union, who are these people without it? How do they live?
I don't think it would be very costly, most poll workers are volunteers, might slow down voting a bit, but already my polling place checks that you are voting in the right precinct.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
And I don't believe illegals are voting in droves, most simply don't care, but I do think without photo ID, paid voters can go from precinct to precinct voting more than once and voting for both the dead and the infirm.
There was a story from last year about a nursing home attendant who was voting his patient's mail ballots. Photo ID wouldn't help in this case, but fraud is happening.

You've never been to a big city have you? Haven't you seen them in the Movies or as you might call them the "Picture Shows"? Normal people live in them and cars are not needed. And
