Cover-Up, White House Emails Revealed
The disastrous Obama Administration operation “Fast and Furious”, which deliberately put guns in the hands of the Mexican cartel, exploded this week with new revelations of a cover-up, and emails which tie the scandal directly to the White House for the first time.
“Fast and Furious” was an attempt to intercept gun-trafficking that sent 2,000 guns to cartel operatives via straw buyers. Critics believe that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder saw the program as an opportunity to embarrass U.S.-based gun dealers, and help galvanize support for increased gun-control measures, while controlling where and how the guns would be “walked” across the border. But the operation went horribly wrong as the guns went unaccounted for, leading to the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry last December in Arizona, and the deaths of untold others inside Mexico – all using guns provided by the ATF. Holder denied knowledge of the operation at a U.S. House hearing on May 3rd, but subsequent revelations clearly show both Holder and the White House had been informed about this program as it ran off the rails.
Now it has been revealed that after the death of Agent Terry, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emory Hurley and then-U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke colluded to cover-up the fact that Terry was killed using one of the guns from ‘Fast and Furious’. Evidence shows that Hurley – who knew “almost immediately” that the guns could be traced to the program, contacted Burke, and they agreed to cover it up:
In an internal email the day after the murder, Hurley, and then-U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke, decided not to disclose the connection, saying ” … this way we do not divulge our current case (Fast and Furious) or the Border Patrol shooting case.”
Bunch of bumbling fools. I never doubted for a minute that F&F was nothing more than a veiled attempt to put gun sellers, buyers and owners in a bad light in order to enact more regulations. :bash :bash
Could this be the Obama Administration's Waterloo? Could it be that the President and Attorney General are lying? Are they dirty?
Hmmmm. I can hardly wait for the press to start talking about this one in earnest. I hope they apply the same standards they have to the Conservatives who have been tried in the court of public opinion and found guilty.
Where are LJ and Archer when you need some righteous indignation?
No, I'm waiting for the bullsh** excuses to start. I simply want the SAME standard applied to the current Administration that was applied to Bush and Cheney. I want to get in line to say how much I hate them....how evil they are.
Hell, it doesn't have to be true...all I need to do is read about it in some conservative blog and go on a rant.
I want to try the current Administration in the court of public opinion...just like the previous administration was over Iraq and the War on Terror.
Holding my breath here.
Chirp, chirp, chirp.
If bullsh** were electricity, our 285 Bound Ultra Liberals would be a dynamo.

Let's take a stab at what will probably be said by those on the left:
- Drug cartels will get guns no matter what so why not create a supply and point to the US as the source; less guns in America equals a safer America and lower crime rates. Duh!
- All gun owners in America are racists and there is an underground conspiracy to overthrow the current administration by force. We had to bring the situation to the public's attention to avoid a revolution!
- It's all Bush's fault, Operation Fast and Furious was planned by W and his henchmen just before the election as a "zero day" attack that would ruin the popularity of the honorable Barack Hussein Obama and his administration. Halliburton!
- Violence is like um bad and stuff so we should get rid of guns and war that kind of stuff because it's bad and it makes people like get hurt and like die and and stuff.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Dude, 7:05 to 7:06 pm between posts - ya might wanna give 'em a chance to log on, on a Friday night, and type an answer before bashing them. Just sayin...
Oh, and I'm not surprised, this administration has gone after whistleblowers, continued wiretapping and expanding the Patriot Act, etc, etc stomping all over ethical behavior - but I'd wager that other liberals won't be as surprised as you think, we're all pretty disillusioned with Obama's backbone and actions...and many previous presidents' as well - it's been a long downhill slide...
