NYC Policemen and Firefighters are not invited to the 10th anniversary of 9/11 at Ground Zero..... The mayor claims there isn't room for them. They weren't invited on that day in 2001 either. THEY JUST SHOWED UP AND DID THEIR JOB

First responders never seem to get the respect they deserve....not just for 911.....but for other disasters....how much do we hear about those who responded in the aftermath of Katrina? We all take them for granted, yet depend on them when disaster strikes, be it a natural disaster, a terrorist attack, or a horrific accident on a highway.

If there isn't room for the first responders then who is there room for?! I can't think of any group of people who deserve to be at ground zero on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 than the survivors and first responders who were there when it happened.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
I'm more upset with the fact that the First Responders bill doesn't cover cancer.
Remember this bill?
CNN (12/22/2010): A deal has been reached in the Senate to pass a 9/11 health care bill. The legislation would provide free medical care to first responders, who are suffering health problems after working at Ground Zero.
It took nine years of committed legislators working tirelessly with first responder advocates, some of them sadly passing away before the bill's signing, to bring much needed relief to those who gave so much down at Ground Zero.
Funny story. Um, as it turns out, as part of a political compromise to get the bill passed, the bill does not cover cancer treatments!
We can get a thread that they aren't invited to the 9/11 ceremony and be upset they didn't get tickets, but not about this? Go figure.
The conservatives only care if it's photo-shoot where they can wave a flag and sing patriotic songs. When it comes to spending money to take care of them, they're not interested.
I GIVE A DAMN, AND SO DOES A WHOLE LOT OF OTHERS. They let 5000 tickets go up for graps to first come, and gave none to the NYPD OR NYFD.
I just think these memorials are meaningless. And like a funeral, kind of strange actually and if I lost a family member, I think I would aviod it like the plague.
Did I ever tell you guys the story about the time (October 2002) when me and lil precious were in St Barts and about 19 outta 20 people by the pool were 911 widows? Most of them with younger guys? They all got millions
