The writer obviously believes "We The People" only applies when someone they support is elected.
Wow, talk about a circular argument. Your reading comprehension seems a bit slanted; we the people is all of us and every last one of us is caught in the same swirl. I conceded that point and moved on to the meat of the post, the United States of America is nearly bankrupt and our current leadership is making the situation worse by the hour.
We are shipmates on the same ship but somehow too many of you believe the ship isn't sinking, by your logic four more years of the same "leadership" will bring the nation back to prosperity.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Wow, you jumped to post something I never said and labeled it as "my logic." Please don't take liberties trying to tell me what I think.
I only addressed the point that in the last election the winning candidate was elected by a majority of the voters in many different demographics -- not just young people, as the writer stated.
The writer uses "We the People" in a way that seems to say "We the People" didn't elect the last president.
All of us do have a chance to vote but only a majority of those who vote elect a winning candidate for president.
I have no idea who I'll vote for in 2012. There's nobody on the right that's running that I like and, as I've stated many times, I'm not happy with some of things that Obama has failed to accomplish. If I don't like any of the candidates, I'll be forced to pick the lesser of two evils: which one would be least bad, IMO.

DAMN, you figured us out. All we want to do is tear this country down.
I know the Tea Party thinks they have the right ideas for this country, I don't doubt their, or your sincerity. I just think they are wrong in the direction they want to take this country. I'm not particularly happy with Obama either, and I especially think that congress is so lost in the partisan bickering that they have no ability, nor even the desire, to make reasonable and valid decisions.
What I fear is that in their zeal to make major changes in how this nation is governed, the Tea Party will lose sight of what is best for America and her citizens. I would rather make no changes in leadership than allow us to spend 4 years barreling down the wrong road and have no way back. I have not seen anything from the Republican candidates that makes me think they will act reasonably and not just dance to the Tea Party tune. Romney set himself apart for a while, but now is pandering to the Tea Party just like all the other candidates.
I'm sorry, but I don't think the Tea Party represents the majority of Americans. I have always advocated a divided government, not all Democrats....not all Republicans, that way there really are checks and balances. If a Republican wins the White House, and the congress is Republican, yes.....I'm damn scared what may happen to our nation.

The result of that Archer would be (IMO) the same. The great thing about all this is you have the right to believe what you believe and they believe what they want. I do not believe right now that Congress as a whole really has an idea what will solve or how to solve the problem. Pelosi had the gavel Reid had the control and Obama as President, nothing happened to better this country. Now we have Bonehead with the gavel, reid still in control and still Obama as president. Still nothing happens. Congress needs to change. They all need to go, new faces, new thoughts etc. Democrats, Republicans, Tea Party, no of them has done much go for this country. We are worse now than we were. I believe it will even go worse than it is now before things turn around.

I don't disagree with any of your post...certainly we are not where we should be as a country......and those in power have been unable to change the course of this economy. I do believe the seeds for our current recession were planted decades ago and it is naive to think we can fix it in 4 years, or even 8 years. "worse" is a relative term, and you may be right that it will get worse before it gets better. I'm looking further down the road.....decisions made now will have consequences decades from now, if we go for a short term fix, and try to do decades worth of changes in a few years, our children and grandchildren will have to live with those decisions.
That is what I see the Tea Party/Republicans doing......focusing on things they think will fix the economy right now, with no thought to what the consequences will be for future generations. I could be wrong....just like any of us could be wrong. We don't have a crystal ball to see what the consequences of our actions will be, which is why I think we need a more measured/balanced approach than what I hear from the right. Preserving America and it's way of life, the gains this country has made since it's inception, should not be just tossed aside in an attempt to win votes, or make radical changes, or turn America into one faction's vision.......this is about all Americans.
I don't really see either side with any idea to plug the hole in the dam.
I do see all the finger pointing and disagreement as a turn off to the People.
And We the Peiople, Means Everyone. not just you Archer or Wayne or whom ever. Allof us.

Exactly. So using "We the People" to further a particular political point of view is wrong.

Just like an old record with a scratch in it... We all got your point but you want to cling to it. Is that the only part of the original post you can defend or are you willing to move on to the larger issue? If your hair was on fire and I said Wayne, the fellow in the yellow shirt has his hair on fire and it turned out you were wearing a blue shirt did the fire on top of your head go out?
Worse, I suspect some shenanigans are going on. Since when was Wayne H suddenly WayneLeeH? Vice Lord? Does your mamma know you are up this late on a school night?
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
