Gun buyback for kids

gangstas in training:

This was a different kind of gun buyback program.

The guns being bought back from the streets weren’t 9 mm handguns or Glocks. Instead, they were Nerf guns or toy pistols.

And they weren’t being bought with cash. This time, the currency was pizza slices, notebooks and dress shirts.

The FATHERS group and Bona Pizza teamed up Monday for a buyback aimed at younger teens and preteens at the pizzeria at Bailey and Kensington avenues.

The idea was simple: Don’t let kids get used to firing weapons, even if they’re toys.

I'd say it taught kids how to play a sucker for free pizza and clothes in exchange for old toys.

We skipped the guns and went straight to chucking crabapples full strength at each other's heads...ever been hit with one of those? You'll see stars...and learn how to move fast real quick!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

Guns of any kind even imaginary are not politically correct anymore:

Way back when it wasn't unheard of in my neighborhood to have bottle rocket wars and the dads often provided the bottle rockets. Back then we engaged in all kids of dangerous behaviors, riding bikes without helmets, building our own tree forts, painting with lead based paint... The list goes on and on but I can't remember anyone getting hurt beyond a few scrapes and bruises.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

Look at this as a conditioning event for a political movement that will actually get you to give up your weapons down the toad. If you fail, try try again. Everyone needs to conform to the narrow norm of a bell-shaped curve. E-gads....

The hand that rocks the cradle...convince them early that there is no reason for anyone to have guns, not self defense, not hunting, etc. Then these anti-gun kids will grow up and vote to disarm their fellow citizens.

There are also groups that want to make hunting illegal until 18. Scary, kids of 14 and 15 with high powered rifles and semi-auto shotguns.
