And wow has this area changed.

I've lived in the Conifer/Evergreen area (with a short interruption in the late 1980s) since 1979. I'd agree there used to be a lot of indendent thinkers here, and it's a shame it's becoming overrun with lockstep Republican-orthodox zombies.

By the way, it sounds like you're the one whining.

I post here because I enjoy interacting with the simple, close-minded posters on the right who wouldn't dare to entertain an original thought that's not fed to them by FoxNews or Rush or Beck. I also liked to poke a stick in an anthill and watch the angry ants run around stingging each other.

It's kind of the same thing.

Posting here provides an opportunity to interact with friends in real time while traveling. Keeping in touch selectively makes it a supportive social tool.

Rock-Don't be a phoney...Who knows why you really post, but I think everyone here knows theres a much more immature and self centered reason than the one given..I'm no head doctor but it seems to this outside observer that you desperately seeking some respect.... for whatever reason. not getting it at work or at home maybe?

Social tool..? lol
