I originally started posting on many sites because I enjoy exchanging information, experiences, and ideas with other people from all over the world. I still primarily post for those reasons. I see nothing wrong in sharing some jokes and seeing the humor in things that are happening around us right now.
I also share my point of view on the political and economic condition of our nation, I happen to think that we are on the wrong track and things are going to get worse under the current administration. Intelligent, well reasoned rebuttals are always welcome but too often political threads on this site devolve into name calling and childish tactics instead of staying on topic.
I'll be the first to step forward and admit to some of those offenses; if you find that I have stopped replying to your taunts it's a self correction on my part. There is no point in arguing with anyone who doesn't have a full understanding of any issue and will not consider alternate points of view.
I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford
Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus
What is so complicated about the question? The internet is a form of entertainment....it's a place to state our views and listen to those of others. A way to connect with friends a neighbors and occupy a little time. I think it's better than vegging in front of a TV. What it isn't is a way to change the world, or a way to influence public opinions. For those trying to change the world, one message board at a time, I fear you will be disappointed.
