"These record-setting numbers are the result of strong, sensible enforcement programs and priorities, and the dedication of thousands of ICE agents and officers who work tirelessly every day to keep our communities safe," ICE Director John Morton said.

Obama has sent home more than 1 million illegal immigrants in 2 1/2 years — on pace to deport more in one term than George W. Bush did in two. The Obama administration had deported about 1.06 million as of Sept. 12, against 1.57 million in Bush's two full presidential terms.

Other than the obvious comments on his Aunt 'Toots" and DUI Uncle..(rhetoric vs reality),

Where is the partisan spin? I mean, this is a good thing right?

lol Only makes sense, with 9.1% unemployment and 20% underemployment, booting 11 million illegal aliens out has to help on jobs, both by hiring more INS and employers hiring more citizens.

I didn't have a chance to read the article yet, but do they talk much about the increased violence and crime along the border and in Mexico over the last 5 or so years?

As the Mexican problems bleed more and more into this country, I would think more arrests would just be inevitable and not neccessarily due to a pre-emptive push for more deportations. Am I wrong here? I think Bush was no better btw.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Traditionally the US has been a pressure valve for Mexico, when the population got too large for the economy, they would flee to America for jobs. Since they are now losing those American jobs and coming home, they might be drawn to the drug trade for work.

Both Bush and Perry like illegal immigration, they just try to be quiet about it, low priced labor that doesn't protest too much.

But the point I'm making is just the increase in Mexican criminals, not illegals in general. Since Obama has made it clear that they will only pursue criminals for deportation, a rise in deportation could only mean a rise in criminal activity...right?

:bs:
and you would be wrong.
From the article that admittedly did not read:

In FY2010, convicted criminals numbered about 196,000 of those removed, an increase of 71 percent from Bush in FY2008.
Of the the 1.06 million removed so far under Obama, 46 percent have been convicted criminals and 54 percent non-criminals. Bush's removals were 41 percent criminal and 59 non-criminal, according to data provided by ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christensen.

Technically- every illegal is a criminal because they broke our laws just getting here.

Every illegal deported is an American job saved.

Why the need for the BS flag? My point was that a rise in criminal activity along the border would equate to a higher level of criminal deportations. According to your quote

In FY2010, convicted criminals numbered about 196,000 of those removed, an increase of 71 percent from Bush in FY2008.

I wasn't aware that the Bush administration gave a pass to convicted criminal aliens. Maybe you havea link for that.
