The Great Wall Story?

lol And people think they can't trust the press these days. I heard this on NPR last night. Seems it was a slow news day in the early 1900's so a couple Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News reporters made up a story that Colorado miners and engineers were being hired by the Chinese goverment to tear down the Great Wall of China in order to encourage trade.

The fraud was so complete that they made up interviews with the wives of miners etc. And not content to defraud their loyal local readers, the story eventually went worldwide.

tongue: Must have confused the Chinese to no end.

Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
